NO CLOTS!!!!

We have been living the last 3 hours or so in sheer terror that Sam had developed clots or that he had significant damage to his heart due to the paralytic he's on.  We were looking at potentially deciding what treatment we would have to pick.  The treatment for clots is a blood thinner which would cause significant problems for his brain injury.  Doing nothing for the clots would have potentially caused him a pulmonary embolism.  Neither of those would have ended well.   I do not wish the feelings we had on anyone.  As Pastor Bill said, that is what not good feels like.

We finally were able to speak with the cardiologist and there are no clots in his heart, lungs, or his legs, where they were most concerned.  He said the reason for his elevated heart rate is most likely because of all of the meds and a variety of other reasons.  The cardiologist also said that he's a healthy teenager, and his heart's working just fine.  I love that man.

Thanks for the immediate response to my prayer request.  Thanks also to my FB chat buddy who for a second time has helped me when things were very bleak looking.  We are so grateful for your continued support.  THANK YOU!

I thought this pic was appropriate.
It's from a trip in 2008 to the Franklin Institute in Philly.
