Finally got to the hospital AND got all my grades entered. There were many times when getting those grades done was the most important thing in the world to me on this, the last day of the semester. Today, my grades are as done as they are getting, and I am at peace with that. Hope my students are, too! I have to give a huge shout out to my department for stepping up and finishing the work I was just not able to complete before this all happened. I also want to thank Becki for subbing for me for the entire week. You are amazing people! Love you guys!
Sam's ICP continues below 20, and we continue to wait for the swelling to come down. Everything else seems to be working. As I'm typing this, they are doing an EKG on him. We will see what that says. I find myself constantly trying to keep myself calm whenever they draw labs or run a new test. Sometimes I need to tell myself (or have others remind me) to breathe. It's a life skill.
There's really not much to tell at this moment, but I'll post more later. Thank you for your nonstop prayer support, and for keeping Kyle, Jay & Lily in your prayers as well. Kyle's supposed to be moved to the rehab unit, (YES!) but there's some ridiculous holdup with the paperwork. If you could ask for the bureaucracy to be resolved quickly, that would be awesome.
Thanks! I'll write more soon.
That is awesome news Mrs. L! God willing the progress will continue. It is soo frustrating the way hospitals work sometimes; we forget that hospitals are also businesses.
ReplyDeleteGood news indeed! Were Sam and Kyle riding bikes together?
ReplyDeleteNo. Kyle is another trauma patient, and is Sam's next door neighbor here at the hospital. Awesome family!
DeleteGot it-prayers for him too :). Do you need anything taken care of, errands run, anything that we can help with?
DeleteNope, we're good, but thanks. Just trying to reorganize my emotions after this afternoon.
DeletePraise for the good days. Prayers continuing that there will be lots more to come.
