12/19 - evening - Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Continuing with the prevalent Facebook theme of the last few days...
Sarah, Jim and I are back at the hospital, and Aaron is working tonight.  After the sheer terror of this morning and afternoon, we were in need of a little rest and time away to gather ourselves.  Sarah & I will be staying the night, but Jim will most likely head home, because he is playing services tomorrow.

Thank you for all of your incredible support throughout all of this and especially this morning.  We could not survive this without you all.  We have been quoting lines from the movie "Parenthood" all week.  (Yes, we have been here that long.)  We are definitely in roller coaster mode.  If you haven't seen the movie, or have forgotten it, you should check it out.  I actually love roller coasters, but I am really tired of being stuck on this one.

Here is where we are tonight:  ICP is way up, and they had to increase the pentabarb.  They are having to increase his oxygen as well, as his lungs are not functioning as well.  They have to be careful with how they administer that so the ICP doesn't go up any further.  Right now, our main prayers are for a lower ICP, reduction in swelling and no damage to any of his organs.  Normal temp would be awesome, too.

We are thrilled that Kyle has moved to rehab!  We did get some very sad news about Jay tonight.  He was doing great yesterday, but something went wrong over night.  They have removed all life support, and it could be a matter of hours or longer until he is no longer with us.  Sam's mom saw us and told us what was going on.  We went to visit her and her family as they watch and wait.  Our hearts our breaking for all of them, and we'd ask that you pray for peace and comfort for her, Jay and the entire family.

Thank you, friends. I will post more as I am able.  Love to you all.

  1. 98.6, healthy organs, swelling deflation, icp getting back to normal. For all of these things I'm praying. And peace and comfort to Jay's family.
